Mary E. Carpenter, MSW, LCSW
Clinical Director

Mary received her master's degree in Social Work from ASU and holds her licensure through the State of Arizona Board of Behavioral Health (LCSW). Mary served as the Director of Phoenix’s two largest Hospital Social Work Departments and was instrumental in recognizing the need for licensure of Assisted Living and helping to bring this need to the attention of the State Legislature and the medical community in the 1980’s. Mary is a frequent speaker on Assisted Living and family issues and has authored several articles relating to issues families face when placing their loved ones in assisted living. Mary is the Clinical Director of Adult Care Connection and has been with the company for 19 years. Her extensive knowledge of the Assisted Living communities and residential homes in all areas of the Phoenix metro market has proven to be invaluable to the families and clients we serve.

Cami Alongi
Executive director

Cami has over 20 years of experience in the healthcare field, specifically with the senior population. Her extensive background includes working with families and patients in various healthcare settings and has managed business operations, business development and marketing divisions in Arizona and California in Assisted Living, Skilled Nursing, Independent Living, Home Health, Home Care, Physician Practices, Mobile Physician Services and Managed Care Systems.

Ruth K. Durham, MSW

Ruth holds a Master’s degree (MSW) from University of Pennsylvania. Her expertise comes from several years of experience as a Hospital Social Worker, Mental Health Counselor and Assistant Professor of Social Work.  In addition to assisting clients and their families with clinical assessments and accompanied tours, Ruth specializes in evaluating new assisted living homes to determine if they meet the high standards of Adult Care Connection.


Cynthia C. Kelley, MSW

Cynthia received her MSW degree from ASU in Social Work Administration. She has worked in a number of local Hospitals as a Social Work Department Manager, and has provided grief support, crisis intervention and discharge planning to patients and families in multiple clinical settings.

Karen Sanders, BSW

Karen received her Bachelor of Social Work at Rowan University in Glassboro, New Jersey’s School of Social Work and has been an active Social Worker in various roles in the Home and Community Based Services arena for the past 20 years. Karen’s expertise in is extensive case management and crisis intervention as well as psycho-social evaluation of various at-risk populations.

 

Gianna Johnston, MSW

Gianna holds a Master of Social Work degree from the University of Connecticut School of Social Work. Gianna’s work experience in the hospital setting includes both Oncology and Med-Surg. Gianna also worked on special projects at Harvard University and attended the Hartford Seminary Women’s Leadership Institute. Gianna has extensive experience in family caregiving and care management with the elderly population.

CHRISTy PHAM
BSW INTERN

Christy is currently enrolled in the School of Social Work at ASU, and is expected to graduate with her Bachelors (BSW) in December 2018. Her biggest goal is to give back to the community, and help those who once cared for us. She hopes to inspire her fellow classmates to also pursue a fulfilling career in geriatrics.
